Malaysian Chinese cousins shine in politics

According to Malaysia's "Guanghua Daily", the deputy speaker of the House of Commons of Malaysia, Ni Kemin, and the grandfather of Perak State Speaker Ni Kehan's cousin Ni Zhixiang, were Nanqiao Jigong. Now grandchildren gallop in Malaysian politics.

The host Liu Daonan of the Malaysian Southern Chinese Mechanical History Research Studio and the Memory of the Friends of the Southern Chinese Mechanical Engineering said that he recently searched for information from the Yunnan Archives and also interviewed Xu Yongtai, the son of Ni Zhixiang’s fellow comrade Xu Changzheng, and the father of Ni Kemin Ni Yuxian (Love Dahua), get more information about Ni Zhixiang's participation in the Anti-Japanese War.

Ni Yuxian (79 years old) currently lives in Ai Dahua Town. Ni Lao said that his father had never hesitated to leave his family in his hometown and went to Yunnan thousands of kilometers away, driving a vehicle on the Myanmar-Burma highway to carry military materials to the front line of the war.

Ni Lao also disclosed that his mother was still pregnant with him at the time. But his father left his wife and children and went to a strange place to fight the war. At that time, it was difficult for the family to be considerate. After the war, many mechanics were demobilized and returned to Nanyang, but his father did not come back to love Dahua, but ran back to Gutian County, his hometown of Fuzhou. Later, when the situation was turbulent, and unable to return to Malaysia, his father started another family. It was not until the old man passed away in 1979 that he was able to return home to visit his father's grave in 1994.

According to Ni Yuxian, he was born just three months after his father left. Since then, he has never seen his father.
