The final of the two-day "Southern Fireflies Cup" Chinese Language Debate for Colleges and Universities in 2018 was held in Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia on the 23rd. The Putra University Malaysia team won the championship.

   The "Southern Firefly Cup" Chinese Debate Competition is held by Xiamen University Malaysia. The final of this competition was held between Putra University and Team B of Xiamen University Malaysia. Focusing on the debate on "Is it gratifying or sad that everyone is drunk and I am alone", the pros and cons started to talk about it. After 3 rounds of voting by 7 judges, the Putra University team won the championship. Qian Weiming of Xiamen University Malaysia B team won the title of best debater.

    A total of 10 debate teams from local public and private colleges and universities in Malaysia, as well as teams A and B of Xiamen University Malaysia branch participated in this debate.

    Fan Zhiquan, assistant to the president of Xiamen University Malaysia, said that the competition was intense and exciting, and the performance of the participating teams was very exciting. He hopes that the students will not only show their talents in the debate, but also have high ambitions and develop comprehensively in their study and life in the future.

   The "Southern Firefly Cup" Chinese Debate Competition was founded by the Chinese Debate Society of Xiamen University Malaysia in 2016 and is held once a year.
