Han Yu visited Malaysia and signed back a large order for dry goods of NT$100 million
Taiwan’s Kaohsiung Mayor Korea Yu visited Malaysia on the 24th and signed a letter of intent with the Malaysian Chamber of Grain Import and Export in the afternoon. The Kaohsiung City Government stated that, in addition to the letter of intent for cooperation, today it also signed a large order of NT$100 million (approximately RMB 21,827,800) for purchasing Kaohsiung agricultural and fishery products from Malaysia.
According to a report by Taiwan’s "United Daily News" on February 24, the two sides held closed-door talks in the afternoon after the Malaysian Datuk Seri Cai Baoqiang and Han Guoyu gave speeches on behalf of both parties, and then signed a letter of intent for cooperation. Cai Baoqiang said that the Malaysian Chamber of Grain Imports and Exports plays a role as a bridge to promote the development of Malaysia's import and export and explore new opportunities for cooperation between the two places.
Cai Baoqiang said that Malaysian halal-certified food is highly recognized by Muslims around the world, and he believes that this part has a lot of room for cooperation with Kaohsiung City. Today, the Malaysian Chamber of Grain Import and Export and Gaoshi signed a letter of intent for cooperation to establish a long-term cooperative relationship and jointly promote bilateral agricultural and food trade cooperation.
Han Yu thanked the Malaysian Chamber of Grain Import and Export for purchasing more items from Kaohsiung in the new year, and hoped that there would be deeper and broader cooperation in the future. Han Yu pointed out that Kaohsiung has aquaculture fishermen who have obtained halal certification and expects to sell aquaculture fishery products to Islamic countries through channels such as Malaysia.
Han Yu emphasized that he would like to thank the Malaysian Food Import and Export Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity, and hope that there will be deeper and broader cooperation opportunities in the future. Kaohsiung products will adhere to the principle of no export, and the first export is quality assurance, otherwise they would rather not export. The geographical location of Kaohsiung remains unchanged, but the spiritual world has changed. I hope that Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan, can take its own path.
