Malaysian Prime Minister's Special Envoy to China delivered a speech at the first "Henan-Sarawa

The first "Henan - Sarawak" River Culture Forum opened on April 23 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Kuching, Sibu and Zhengzhou, China. Special Envoy of Malaysian Prime Minister to China, Chairman of Malaysia-China Business Council and member of Parliament Zhang Qingxin hoped to strengthen water conservancy cooperation between Malaysia and China in his speech.

 

According to the North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power (NORTH China University of Water Resources and Electric Power) and Malaysia University of Science and Technology (Sarawak), the forum was held through an online video conference under the auspices of the Confucius Institute. This forum is sponsored by North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power and Sarawak University of Science and Technology, organized by Confucius Institute of Sand Science and Technology of China university and Sarawak Chinese Cultural Association, and supported by Henan Provincial Education Department, Henan Provincial Government Foreign Affairs Office, Chinese Embassy in Malaysia and Chinese Consulate General in Kuching.

 

Mr. Zhang Qingxin and Mr. Liang Jieyi, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Henan Provincial Government, Mr. Diao Yuhua, Deputy Director of the Henan Provincial Education Department, Mr. Song Changhong, Deputy Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Kuching, Mr. Zhao Changtao, Education Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, Mr. Kailuding, President of Sarawak University of Science and Technology, Mr. Liu Boju, president of Sarawak Chinese Cultural Association, Wang Qingyi, chairman (Party Secretary) of the Management Committee of NORTH China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, Liu Wenkai, President and Liu Xuemei, vice President of the University attended the opening ceremony.

 

Zhang qingxinsaid at the opening ceremony that China's Yangtze and Yellow rivers gave birth to the Chinese civilization, and Malaysia's Rajang River also reflects the unique charm of Sarawak. Siwu was built because of the river, and the local government is working hard to build water control facilities and early warning information system. He hoped that through this forum, the cooperation between Henan province and Sarawak, as well as between Malaysia and China, could be strengthened to cultivate more water conservancy talents and conduct high-level scientific research.

 

Wang Qingyi, chairman of the Management Committee of North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, said that the first "Henan-Sarawak River Culture Forum" took the river as the research carrier and built a research exchange platform for experts and scholars from China and Malaysia. Confucius Institute of The University of Sand Science and Technology of Huashui Has built the brand of Confucius Institute among henan universities from the three dimensions of self-construction, inter-university cooperation and social service, which has been recognized by the local community. It is hoped that this forum will become a new opportunity for educational and cultural exchanges between Henan Province and Sarawak State.

 

This forum mainly focuses on topics such as "Chinese historical and cultural inheritance", "water culture" and "water ecological protection and management" in China and Malaysia, and discusses the interaction between rivers and human civilization and Chinese civilization, so as to enrich the historical, aesthetic and philosophical value of river culture. The forum lasted for one day. After the opening ceremony, a total of 8 experts and scholars from China and Malaysia who won the first prize for manuscript writing gave keynote speeches respectively on the theme of "River culture", discussing the way of river, the inheritance of civilization and cultural exchanges.
