The route from Mangshi, Yunnan to Mandalay, Myanmar carried more than 3,000 passengers in the first

As of February 28, the direct route from Mangshi to Mandalay in Myanmar opened the "full moon". According to statistics, this three-times weekly non-stop route carries a total of 3,323 passengers, and the "fast travel and slow travel" cross-border tourism products it drives are very popular.

"The registration of the Mangshi direct flight to Mandalay, Myanmar on March 5th is full!" Yang Bo, the person in charge of Mangshi Xiangyu Aviation Travel Co., Ltd. in Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, updated the group notice at any time in the circle of friends.

On November 15, 2018, the opening of Mangshi Airport's air port successfully passed the national inspection and acceptance, becoming the province's fourth foreign aviation port after Kunming, Xishuangbanna, and Lijiang, and the country's 75th foreign aviation port; January 12, The Myanmar Visa Service Center (Mangshi, Ruili) designated by the Myanmar Consulate-General in Kunming held an unveiling (granting) ceremony in Mangshi; on January 31, a direct flight from Mangshi to Mandalay was opened.

"In just one month, our company will usher in the fifth group of 20-person tour groups." The previous group of tour groups has not yet returned, and Yang Bo has begun to arrange the itinerary for the next group of tourists.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Dehong Prefecture Bureau of Commerce, the most direct convenience brought by the opening of the international air route from Mangshi to Mandalay, China's nearest to Myanmar, is the significant reduction in the time and cost of entry and exit for personnel from the two countries. "Except for Mangshi, inbound and outbound passengers from neighboring prefectures (cities) such as Dali and Baoshan can apply for Myanmar visas and travel locally."

"The market response is quite good!" Zhou Yiyun, full-time deputy director of the Dehong Tourism Development Committee, is particularly optimistic about the prospects for the iterative upgrade of tourism products activated by this route. He believes that the era of mass tourism has released and created new consumption and supply, and the in-depth development of cross-border tourism is unstoppable. Before the opening of the direct flight from Mangshi to Mandalay, the cross-border tourism products of Dehong prefecture were mainly one-day trips to the China-Myanmar border for a long time. After the opening of direct flights, many local travel agencies have successively launched 8-day travel products in Mandalay, Bagan and Yangon. "90% of the passengers on direct flights are tourists, and most of them are traveling in groups." Zhou Yiyun introduced.

The hot cross-border tourism market also gives tourism practitioners some "cold" thinking. "Introducing Burmese tourism talents, improving the service chain of travel agencies\'going out', and accelerating Myanmar tourists\'bringing in\' are the bottlenecks that need to be broken through." Zhou Yiyun said. The opening of direct flights has brought unprecedented opportunities for travel agencies, and cross-border tourism product updates and iterations are also at hand. Yang Bo said that the travel agency will consider expanding the combination of cross-border tourism and local tourism products to attract tourists from all over the country to visit Myanmar after visiting Yunnan.

According to statistics, from the opening of the Mandalay-Mandalay route on January 31 to February 28, a total of 3,323 passengers have entered and exited the country. Among them, 1530 people entered the country, 1793 people left the country, and 27 inbound and outbound vehicles.
