The Ambassador of Myanmar to China signed the Convention of the International Mediation Institute
ASEAN Headline News: According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, on August 28, 2025, Ambassador Tin Maung Re of Myanmar in China signed the Convention of the International Mediation Institute on behalf of the Myanmar government in Beijing.
As per ASEAN Headline, the International Mediation Institute is the world's first inter-governmental international legal organization dedicated to resolving international disputes through mediation. On May 30, 2025, the signing ceremony of the Convention of the International Mediation Institute was held in Hong Kong, China. Central Committee member of the Communist Party of China and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended and delivered a speech. Representatives from 33 countries signed the convention, becoming the founding member states of the International Mediation Institute. After negotiations among the contracting countries of the convention, Hong Kong was decided to be the headquarters location of the International Mediation Institute.
