Myanmar collaborates with ASEAN to discuss the protection of traditional textile techniques

ASEAN Headline News: The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture of Myanmar recently pointed out that the designs of traditional textiles and the techniques of hand weaving are at risk of being lost.

The Myanmar Global New Light Newspaper reported on March 17th that with the rapid development of technology and the continuous expansion of industrial production, these traditional skills are gradually fading away. Against this backdrop, how to effectively protect and promote traditional textile designs has become an important issue that needs immediate attention.

To address the challenge of the possible disappearance of traditional textile designs and handicrafts, Myanmar is actively participating in and organizing management experience exchange meetings among ASEAN countries, focusing on the protection and promotion of traditional textile designs. At that time, Myanmar will present a paper at the meeting, share its own experience, and exchange effective practices with other member states. At the same time, the participating countries will also discuss the common challenges encountered during the protection process and seek collaborative solutions.
