Indonesia landslide accident search and rescue ends: 32 people are killed and one is still missing

According to foreign media reports, on the first day of the new year, the Indonesian island of West Java caused a landslide due to heavy rain. On the 7th local time, Indonesian authorities stated that a week of search and rescue work has ended, at least 32 people were killed and one person is still missing.

The local police said that the search has ended and only one victim has not been found, but his family has accepted this fact. In addition, the accident also caused many injuries.

It is reported that natural disasters such as landslides are very common in archipelago areas like Indonesia.

In October 2018, more than 20 people were killed in another flash flood and landslide in western Indonesia. In June 2016, nearly 50 people were killed in a flash flood in Central Java Province, Indonesia.
