The Jakarta-Bandung bullet train made its debut online
A Chinese-made high-speed bullet train pulled out of Bandung Karur station in Indonesia on Nov 9, local time, marking the start of a hot slip test on the contact line in the test section of Indonesia's Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway. It was also the first time the train unit made its debut on the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed line.
Connecting Indonesia's capital Jakarta and its fourth largest city Bandung, the 142-kilometer Jakarbandung high-speed Railway is a landmark project in the Belt and Road Initiative and the practical cooperation between China and Indonesia. It is also the first Chinese high-speed railway project with the whole system, elements and industrial chain to be built overseas, with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. When the project is completed, travel time between Jakarta and Bandung will be reduced from more than three hours now to 40 minutes.
