Indonesia's Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, said that the government will focus on the development of quality and sustainable tourism, and strive to receive more than 10 million foreign tourists by 2024.
The country has received 949 trillion foreign tourists in 2023, exceeding its target of 8.5 million. Indonesia is promoting partnerships with airlines to increase the number of flights to Kertajati International Airport in West Java.
Sandiago said that in addition to the target of foreign tourists, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has proposed a target of 1.25 billion tourists in 2024, of which 1.5 billion are domestic tourists.
