Indonesia's central bank kept its key interest rate unchanged at 6.25 percent
The central Bank of Indonesia has decided to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 6.25 percent. Meanwhile, the deposit rate remained at 5.5% and the lending rate at 7%. The decision was in line with market expectations.
Bank Indonesia Governor Peri Wagijo said the decision to keep the benchmark interest rate unchanged at 6.25% was in line with the Bank's commitment to stability, in line with monetary policy conducive to stability, aimed at strengthening the rupiah and ensuring inflation remains under control.
