The National Museum of Indonesia has reopened to the public

The National Museum of Indonesia has reopened to the public after being closed for a year due to a fire, drawing crowds of visitors.

On the evening of September 16, 2023, a fire broke out in the museum. Official statistics show that a total of 902 cultural relics in the six exhibition rooms in the museum have been affected to varying degrees.

China News Agency reporter 29 saw that the reopened Indonesian National Museum deliberately set up a fire exhibition area, visitors can see the wall after the fire burned, scattered scorched earth on the ground, rubble mixed with wood and debris. The museum said the move aims to remind people to cherish cultural heritage and raise awareness of disaster prevention.

The reopened museum also uses modern digital technology to provide visitors with an interactive and immersive experience. In the AI experience project, visitors simply stand in front of the camera to generate an animated image dressed in the traditional costumes of various Indonesian ethnic groups.

The Indonesian National Museum is a collection of archaeology, history, anthropology and geology in a comprehensive museum, because there is an elephant statue in its front yard, also known as the elephant museum.
