China Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines donates to Guangxi Chinese Education

On October 10th, under the bridge of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, a delegation from the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines visited Guangxi and donated RMB 1 million to Guangxi Overseas Chinese School to support the development of Chinese education.


   Dong Hongya, consul of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, said at the donation ceremony that the Philippine Chinese Chamber of Commerce entrepreneurs, while developing their careers, support Chinese education and actively give back to their home countries, which will greatly promote non-governmental exchanges between China and the Philippines and deepen the friendship between the two sides.


   Dong Hongya also said that the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines will continue to support the Chinese education in the Philippines and attract more social forces to support the development of Chinese education.


    Hong Jixiang, President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, introduced that as an important group of new immigrants in the Chinese Society of the Philippines, the Chamber of Commerce has played an active role in the economic and social development of the Philippines in recent years and has done a lot of work in promoting China-Philippines friendship and giving back to the local society. In order to better participate in the cause of Chinese education, the Chamber of Commerce has also set up a special education fund to help Chinese youth in the Philippines to study in China.


   Hong Jixiang hopes that this donation will further improve the teaching conditions of Guangxi Overseas Chinese School, so that more Chinese Filipino teenagers can study at ease.


    Chen Jie, deputy director of the Guangxi Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, said that in the future, Guangxi will maintain close communication with donors to maximize the use of donated funds. She also hopes that Chinese youths studying in Guangxi will always be grateful and earnestly learn Chinese cultural knowledge. Repay the love of enthusiastic people with excellent results.


Zhang Qiwen, Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangxi Overseas Chinese School, expressed his gratitude for the donation. He introduced that after about 60 years of running the school, the school has developed into a national model school with more than 6,000 people running vocational education and Chinese education, which is rare in the country. The established system recruits overseas Chinese teenagers to attend high schools. The current school is actively exploring the development path of "education internationalization" to serve the construction of the "Belt and Road". It is hoped that more will be gained within the framework of donations to schools, school-enterprise cooperation, and integration of industry and education. The attention of overseas chambers of commerce and enterprises in ASEAN countries.


   The Philippines-China Chamber of Commerce was established in 2007. The Association currently has nine branches with members all over the Philippines.
