The bridge built by China is about to be opened. Philippines expresses
The bridge over the Davao River in the Philippines (known as the Bukana Bridge in the Philippines) is scheduled to open to traffic on December 15th. In response, the Davao City Council passed a resolution on the 9th, praising former President Duterte and China for their promotion and support of the Bukana Bridge, and stating that the bridge has played a significant role in alleviating traffic congestion, promoting economic development, and strengthening diplomatic relations between the Philippines and China.
The Philippine newspaper "Manila Times" stated that the opening of the Bukana Bridge will greatly promote the development of the coastal road network in Davao City and help alleviate traffic congestion, marking a milestone in the infrastructure development of Davao City.
"Huerman Laurel, the director of the Philippine Institute of Asian Century Strategy, said that the Bukana Bridge is an important infrastructure investment. It will significantly improve the transportation connections for residents in Davao City and support economic activities along the coastal corridor."
In early December, Philippine President Marcos inspected the Bukana Bridge. He said that the Chinese contractor of the bridge knew how to build bridges that are both sturdy and cost-effective, and that the Chinese side adopted advanced technology to complete the project quickly. "This bridge was built together with the ring road of Davao City. The travel time of nearly two hours will be shortened to 25 minutes," Marcos said during the inspection. "We are looking forward to its official opening." [Special Correspondent in the Philippines, Fan Fan]
