Russian Deputy Defense Minister Fuming stated on the 14th that Russia will participate in the 2019 naval exercises organized by Singapore and South Korea under the framework of ASEAN cooperation.
Russia’s TASS news agency reported on the 14th that Fuming stated at the press conference that day, “In March 2019, we will send a group of Russian experts (20 people) to participate in the exercise of the military medical expert working group hosted by Myanmar and India. 2019 In May, we will participate in a multilateral naval exercise organized by Singapore and South Korea."
According to the report, Fuming stated that under this form of framework, cooperation in the fields of combating terrorism, military education, medicine, and peacekeeping is actively being carried out.
Fuming also said, “Russia, like Laos, is the co-chairman of the ASEAN dialogue partner'Humanitarian Demining Working Group of the Defense Ministers’ Conference. The Russian engineering team is currently participating in mine clearance operations in Laos. At the same time, we are also training Lao engineers. Work with Russian-made engineering equipment."
