Singapore Prime Minister Wong Sam Choi visits Malaysia
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim held talks with visiting Singaporean Prime Minister Wong Sin Choi on the afternoon of the 12th. The two sides expressed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and looked forward to laying the foundation for the Malaysia-Singapore Leaders' Summit to be held at the end of the year through this visit.
At a joint press conference held after the talks, Anwar said he and Wong discussed bilateral issues such as the "Johor Singapore Special Economic Zone" and the promotion of bilateral investment. The two leaders will ask relevant officials of both countries to speed up consultations to resolve bilateral "outstanding issues" such as the Malaysia-Singapore water supply agreement and the Malaysia-Singapore Flight Information Region. The two sides also agreed to strengthen cooperation within the ASEAN framework to ensure that ASEAN can focus on new challenges such as energy transition and digital trade.
