Thailand Holds Overseas Exhibition of Chinese Macau Traditional Handicraft Industry
Co-sponsored by the International Exchange and Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Office), the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government of China, and the Chinese Cultural Center in Bangkok, Thailand, the "Prosperous Years-Macao Traditional Handicraft Exhibition" on the 10th in Bangkok, China Opening of the Cultural Center.
The exhibition will last until November 20. With the theme of the three major traditional handicraft industries in Macau, the divine incense industry, the match industry and the firecracker industry, the exhibition showcases the emergence, development, prosperity, and decline of these three traditional handicraft industries, which once accounted for 40% of the total industrial output value of Macau, through more than 100 exhibits. Let the audience understand the past and current situation of Macau's traditional industries.
Meng Kunti, representative of the Department of Cultural Promotion of the Ministry of Culture of Thailand, told reporters that this exhibition will help Thais further understand the historical development of Macao’s handicraft industry. The selection of materials for its “grounding” and “cultural similarity” made Thai audiences feel cordial and happy. Accept, hope to hold more similar activities in the future.
Participants in Thailand stopped in front of many historical pictures, some took out their mobile phones to take pictures, some discussed the similarities and differences of the handicraft industries of the two places, and some were excited by finding where they had been on the cultural map on display.
It is reported that Bangkok is the first stop for the exhibition to go abroad, and the next stop will be on display in Portugal.
