The coronation ceremony of the King of Thailand will be held in May this year
The Thai Palace Office issued an announcement on the 1st that the coronation ceremony of King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand will be held from May 4th to 6th this year.
The announcement stated that Vajiralongkorn had accepted the President of the Legislative Assembly in 2016 to request his succession to the King of Thailand. The King believed that the time had come to hold a coronation ceremony in accordance with the kingdom’s traditions.
The announcement stated that the coronation ceremony included the crowning of the king, the promulgation of the titles of the king and members of the royal family, the king's acceptance of the royal family, the Privy Council, the cabinet and other civil servants at all levels, and the presence of the Grand Palace in Bangkok to receive congratulations from the public.
Waji Lalongkorn was born on July 28, 1952, as the only son of King Rama IX Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit. After the death of Bhumibol Bhumibol in October 2016, Vajiralongkorn accepted the president of the Legislative Assembly Pompei in December of that year, and he became King Rama X of Thailand.
