Chinese Enterprises Create Opportunities for Thais——The “One Belt One Road” in the eyes of the emplo

In recent years, thanks to the “One Belt One Road” initiative, Thailand-China Rayong Industrial Park has welcomed more and more Chinese companies to settle in. While helping to improve Thailand's industrial structure, they also bring new opportunities to local employees. Local employees told Xinhua News Agency reporters that they are very grateful for the opportunities provided by Chinese companies and look forward to the "Belt and Road" initiative to promote regional interconnection at an early date.

You can clearly see a place name marked in Chinese-"Thai-Chinese Rayong Industrial Park Office". The Thai-Chinese Rayong Industrial Park was jointly developed by China Holley Group and Thailand Amata Group in 2006. It is one of China's first overseas economic and trade cooperation zones and the first modern industrial park established in Thailand for Chinese investors.

For more than ten years, especially after the "One Belt One Road" initiative was put forward, more and more Chinese companies have come to this park to invest in and set up factories, not only creating new jobs for Thailand, but also bringing technologically advanced production lines. . Futong Group from Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province is one of them. The group established Futong Group (Thailand) Communication Technology Co., Ltd. here, and built the largest communication optical cable factory in the ASEAN region in 2013.

Fortis (Thailand) Manufacturing Division Deputy Chief of Manufacturing Division, 42-year-old Thai Shaq is very proud that he chose to work for Fortis. "I have been working at Fortis for more than 5 years and have learned a lot of new things. I am very grateful to Fortis for coming to Thailand to invest and set up factories, so that'foreigners' like us have jobs and have money to support our families." Shaq said.

"Foreigners" is a concept opposite to "Bangkok people". Shaq's hometown is in Namrong County, Buriram Province in northeastern Thailand, and belongs to "foreigners". The provinces in the northeastern part of Thailand, which are dominated by agriculture, are economically backward. Among them, the economy of Buriram, located on the border between Thailand and Cambodia, was once ranked last in the country.

Shaq told reporters that only a small number of employees here are Chinese. They teach their Thai colleagues their knowledge wholeheartedly during work. After work, everyone often eats together like brothers and sisters, which makes him feel that "China and Thailand are family". .

Shaq said that he would drive home to Buriram on holidays, and he looked forward to the completion of the China-Thailand railway cooperation project as soon as possible. He said that regional connectivity is very important, and it is particularly beneficial to the development of northeastern Thailand. "I hope Thailand can also have high-speed rail."

Fortis (Thailand) Deputy General Manager Cha Zhengjun introduced that Fortis (Thailand) currently has about 180 employees, of which Thai employees account for more than 90%. Since entering Thailand, the company has always emphasized localization development, and Shaq is one of the Thai management employees who have grown up in localization.

Cha Zhengjun said that Thailand is one of the countries along the “Belt and Road”. Fortis has been actively participating in the construction of the “Belt and Road” and is currently constructing the second phase of the project in the park. It will build the largest and highest level of professionalism in the industry in the local area. The fiber optic cable project is expected to provide more opportunities for Thai employees.

The development of Fortis (Thailand) reflects the broad prospects of the Thai-Chinese Rayong Industrial Park. According to Holley Group, as of the end of 2018, about 120 companies have settled in the Thai-Chinese Rayong Industrial Park, and more than half of them have settled in the past five years. At present, there are more than 32,000 Thai employees in the industrial park, accounting for about 90% of the total number of employees.
