The economic loss caused by the earthquake to Thailand was no less than 20 billion Thai baht
The KResearch Center of Thailand released a report on the 10th stating that the earthquake that occurred in Myanmar on March 28th caused economic losses of no less than 20 billion baht (approximately 4.255 billion yuan) to Thailand.
Affected by this earthquake, many cities in Thailand felt the tremor strongly, causing varying degrees of damage and losses.
The KResearch Center's initial assessment shows that the losses caused by this earthquake are no less than 20 billion Thai baht, mainly due to the suspension or postponement of economic activities, especially in the service industries of Bangkok and its surrounding areas as well as major cities such as Chiang Mai, including event organization, catering, retail, and transportation. If the losses caused by the earthquake to buildings and assets, as well as the subsequent maintenance and insurance claims, are included in the calculation, the economic losses caused by this earthquake will be even greater.
