Vietnam successfully developed a foot-and-mouth disease vaccine

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam held a ceremony in Hanoi on November 17, announcing that it has successfully developed a type O foot-and-mouth disease vaccine and handed over the type A foot-and-mouth disease virus for vaccine development.

After years of research and review process, Vietnam successfully produced O-type foot-and-mouth disease vaccine (AVAC-V6 FMD Emulsion type O) for the first time, meeting the standards stipulated by the current effective laws. At the same time, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam has issued Decision No. 4167/Q?-BNN-TY on the recognition of the type A "RAHO6/FMD/A-379" foot-and-mouth disease virus of the Veterinary Branch of District 6.

The successful production of   O-type foot-and-mouth disease vaccine is a turning point in the process of mastering technology and developing various vaccines including foot-and-mouth disease. With the active production of foot-and-mouth disease vaccines, Vietnam no longer faces the recent shortage of vaccine types and quantities. Since then, it has completely taken the initiative to select suitable foot-and-mouth disease virus types, initially lowered the price of finished vaccines by about 20%, and continued to research, select, and differentiate. The types of viruses in livestock and poultry serve the domestic production of vaccines for the prevention of infectious diseases.
