Vietnamese police handed over 22 suspects to China

Under the coordination of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, the Vietnamese police handed over 22 suspects suspected of online gambling and manufacturing fake credit cards to China at the Sino-Vietnamese Border Friendship Pass on the afternoon of the 22nd.


    In October of this year, based on clues from the Vietnamese side, the Chinese police launched an investigation into a group of Chinese criminals suspected of setting up a network in Vietnam to engage in illegal activities. After more than two months of serious analysis and joint research and judgment, China and Vietnam determined that this is a criminal gang related to online gambling and online money laundering, and they have mastered the exact information of the main members of the gang.


    According to the consensus of the two police joint working groups, Vietnam organized hundreds of police officers to conduct raids on 4 dens in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province on the 19th, arresting 22 suspects, seizing 300 mobile phones, a batch of network equipment and Tools for making fake credit cards.


    With the full cooperation of both parties, the joint working group chartered an airplane and several buses in a relatively short period of time. The Vietnamese side sent 40 police officers to assist in the whole process. On the 22nd, all the suspects and all the exhibits involved in the case were handed over to the Chinese side .


    Zhao Wanpeng, Police Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, said that recently some Chinese criminals have set up sites in Vietnam to conduct illegal and criminal activities against the country through the Internet. The Chinese and Vietnamese police are increasingly cooperating in the joint fight against cybercrime. The Chinese police are telling those who engage in such illegal and criminal activities abroad to stop and surrender as soon as possible, otherwise they will face severe punishments from international cooperation in law enforcement.
