Direct flights from Vietnam to Fangcheng Port cut transportation costs by half

On March 3, 30 dragon fruit refrigerators arrived at Fangcheng Port via the fruit route from Ho Chi Minh Port in Vietnam to Fangcheng Port in Guangxi. After customs clearance procedures such as quarantine and disinfection and cargo inspection are completed at the wharf, they will be transported to Chongqing by rail. The operation of this route has reduced the transportation cost of imported fruits by half.

This batch of fruits imported from Vietnam is the first shipment of a Chongqing enterprise engaged in fruit trade that entered the country through the port of Fangcheng. According to Deng Hongjiu, the person in charge of the company, the test of importing fruits from Southeast Asia via Fangcheng Port and using sea-rail combined transportation saves about half of the logistics costs compared to other routes that are transported by car. The cargo can be connected directly from the freighter to the railway train at the terminal of Fangchenggang Port with "zero distance", which is very convenient and time-saving. In 2019, the company will have 10,000 containers of fruits imported from Thailand and Vietnam entering the port of Fangcheng.

It is understood that the Chongqing company plans to gradually transfer its business to Fangcheng Port, develop cold chain sea-rail intermodal transportation and bonded services from Fangcheng Port to Sichuan-Chongqing and other places, and will cooperate with Fangchenggang City Platform Company in commerce, channel construction and other cross-regional projects. .

As a frontier port city connecting China and ASEAN by land and sea, Fangcheng Port has become the most convenient, lowest cost and shortest distance to the sea in Western China to connect ASEAN countries. Fangcheng Port has been opened to cities such as Beijing, Shenyang, Shanghai, Jinan, and Chongqing. The cold chain special train and the multimodal train to the southwest region have initially formed a new multimodal trade logistics system such as sea rail, road rail, and rail sea, and realized normal operation.

Last year, from Fangchenggang to Beijing, Shenyang, Shanghai, Jinan, Chongqing and other cities, the “point-to-point” full cold chain special train reached 105 trains with 835 boxes, a year-on-year increase of 24%; the multimodal trains to the southwestern region were “distributed to one ticket to the end” multimodal train with 1443 trains 144,300 boxes, a year-on-year increase of 15%.

In 2019, the Fangchenggang Municipal Party Committee and the municipal government proposed to upgrade the dual sea and land channels, give full play to the new advantages of the south-facing gateway city, actively integrate into the construction of the new western sea and land channel, and form an all-round open pattern. They have studied and passed a series of support for the development of cold chain economy. Policy measures will continue to increase support for cold chain goods gathering and project construction.
