In the September of this year, bilateral trade between Vietnam and Laos exceeded 1.2 billion dollars
In the first nine months of this year, the total volume of imports and exports between Vietnam and Laos reached $1.22 billion, up 29% from the same period in 2021, with the value of exports reaching $466 million, up 4.1%, according to a Vietnamese news agency report on October 17. Imports reached $756 million, up 51.3 percent.
According to the Commercial Office of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, at the current growth rate, bilateral trade between the two countries is expected to reach $1.6 billion in 2022, an increase of about 20% over 2021, fulfilling the goal set by the leaders of the two countries at the 44th meeting of the Inter-Governmental Committee on Bilateral Cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
