Xinhua News Agency, Pingxiang, Guangxi, November 13th (Yu Jing, Li Lijin) The first science and technology museum on the China-Vietnam border - Pingxiang Science and Technology Museum - opened its doors in Pingxiang City, Guangxi on November 13th. Chinese and Vietnamese tourists as well as international students from Southeast Asian countries gathered to view the exhibits and interact in various forms to experience China's technological advancements.
The museum is based on "international exchanges", focusing on showcasing Chinese scientific achievements and cultural elements while maintaining a scientific popularization approach. It features exhibition halls and study rooms on topics such as Pingxiang's Specialty industries, Pingxiang's origin story, and artificial intelligence (AI), along with interactive facilities like digital sand maps and 3D cinemas. This creates a new model of science popularization, making it a new window for China-Vietnam scientific and technological exchanges.
"Some of the exhibit equipment can be operated by hand or through voice commands, which really opened my eyes," said Nguyen Thi Van Vy, a Vietnamese student, after experiencing the science products. "China's artificial intelligence and other technologies have sparked my interest. Being able to experience cutting-edge Chinese technology products on the China-Vietnam border is very convenient."
Currently, Pingxiang City, Guangxi has actively embraced the era of artificial intelligence and is promoting the construction of a China-Vietnam smart port. It is applying advanced technologies such as unmanned container trucks for customs clearance to boost trade between China and Vietnam and build an "intelligent and modern" smart city.
