Shenzhen "post-90s" teachers will go to Brunei to help teach

"After learning that I was selected for the list of volunteer teaching services in Brunei and got the support of the Education Bureau and school leaders, I felt very touched and felt the responsibility on my shoulders even more." Huang Wei said.

This year, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Ministry of Commerce decided to let Shenzhen undertake the Brunei project of the Chinese Young Volunteers Overseas Service Program. This is also the fourth time that Shenzhen has sent volunteers to participate in foreign volunteer services. After the project was recruited by universities, state-owned enterprises, etc., nearly 200 volunteer application forms were received. After a comprehensive and detailed inspection, it was finally determined to send 3 young volunteers to Brunei University of Technology on October 23 Huang Wei has been fortunate enough to be a member of the one-year volunteer service for teaching aid.

Huang Wei, who graduated from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, is a "post-90s". In August 2016, she came to Shenzhen, a vibrant city. “I went to the Shenzhen Talent Park once. The sculpture'Deeply love talents, Shenzhen is waiting for you' there impressed and shocked me very much.” Last year In September, Huang Wei passed the teacher recruitment examination and joined Nanshan Tongle School to engage in education and teaching. "From the school's parent volunteers to the'red vests' that can be seen everywhere in the city, I found that Shenzhen is not only a thriving city, but also a city of volunteers.'Give people a rose, a fragrance in your hands' is a warm and beautiful business card here. ."

Huang Wei told reporters that after coming to Shenzhen, she met a volunteer friend by chance. After chatting with her, she felt that volunteering is a very meaningful thing, so she registered as a volunteer in Shenzhen. She served in Mexico as a volunteer Chinese teacher for Hanban for one year. Out of her love for volunteer work and teaching, she signed up after learning about the Brunei volunteer project without thinking.

She came to Shenzhen to work for only one year, during which she spent time with the children day and night, and received the cooperation and support of the parents at work, which made Huang Wei feel unwilling to give up. "Although I will not be able to witness the progress of the children in the next year, I believe that both teachers and students will continue to work hard in their own work and study. When facing difficulties in future work, I will think of lovely students and try to overcome them. It may also be a kind of precepts and deeds to complete good volunteer work."

In this teaching aid project to Brunei University of Technology, Huang Wei is responsible for assisting Brunei University of Technology's teacher development plan, providing training courses for university teachers and students, and teaching Mandarin. "Teaching is good for each other, learning and then knowing the deficiencies, teaching and then knowing the difficulties. I hope to spread Chinese culture while teaching Chinese language and culture knowledge overseas, cultivate students' interest in learning Chinese language and culture, and stimulate their desire to understand China."
