Ticket revenue in Cambodia's Angkor scenic spot exceeds US$100 million in the first 11 months
According to a report published by the Angkor Scenic Area in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, the ticket revenue of the Angkor Scenic Area in the first 11 months of 2018 reached US$104 million, a year-on-year increase of 9.27%.
The report shows that in the first 11 months of this year, the Angkor scenic spot received 2,323,168 overseas tourists, an increase of 6.09% over the same period last year.
Cambodian Siem Reap Provincial Tourism Bureau Director Wu Xingka told the media that, including the Angkor scenic area, the province is expected to receive 2.4 million international tourists throughout the year. In the first nine months, more than 800,000 Chinese tourists visited, and the province is expected to receive 1.2 million Chinese tourists throughout the year. Wu Xingka said that the Chinese New Year is coming, and the Cambodian side strives to attract more Chinese tourists to visit, and at the same time train more Chinese-speaking tour guides.
Statistics from the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia show that the Cambodian tourism industry generated a total of US$3.63 billion in revenue last year.
