ASEAN University Games Cambodia team won 27 medals

The Cambodian national team athletes won 27 medals in the 19th ASEAN University Games in Naypyidaw, Myanmar, and ranked eighth among 11 participating countries. Thailand won 152 medals and ranked first, Indonesia, Malaysia and host Myanmar, Ranked second to fourth respectively.


     After two days of intense competition from December 9 to 20, Cambodia won 5 gold medals, 10 silver medals and 12 bronze medals. The number of medals won by the Cambodian team ranks ahead of the Philippines, East Timor and Brunei.


     Among them, martial arts, petanque, table tennis and karate are the main gold points of the Cambodian team.


     The 19th ASEAN University Games was held in Naypyidaw, Myanmar. More than 1,400 athletes from 11 ASEAN countries including Myanmar participated. The mascot of this ASEAN University Games is the "Ayeyarwady finless porpoise", a cute and endangered "little guy".
