Dalian Maritime University "Yu Kun" visits Cambodia for the first time to carry out exchan

The special teaching practice ship "Yukun" of Dalian Maritime University set sail from Sanya, Hainan on the 19th, and was invited to visit the Kingdom of Cambodia for the first time. The "Yukun" ship has also undertaken the maritime internship task for some graduates of the school's 2019 maritime majors during this visit.

Cambodia is a key node of the "Belt and Road" and one of the ten ASEAN countries. The purpose of this visit is to carry out international cooperation and exchange projects in the field of maritime education in Cambodia, conclude cooperation agreements, and implement cooperation projects such as the "China-ASEAN Maritime Seafarers Education and Training Program" to promote the continuous deepening and solidification of bilateral cooperation. China and Cambodia have a rock-solid friendship to promote maritime cooperation to achieve new results.

According to reports, the delegation was composed of more than 100 teachers and students from the school, relevant ministries and commissions, local governments, enterprises and institutions, media and other guests. According to the schedule, the "Yukun" vessel is expected to arrive in Sihanoukville, Cambodia on May 22. During its stay in Cambodia, the "Yukun" vessel will visit the Royal Agricultural University of Cambodia with the teachers and students on board.

The "Yukun" ship is the first dedicated ocean-going teaching and training ship independently designed and built by China with the world's advanced level. Since its delivery, the "Yukun" ship has not only undertaken the teaching and internship tasks and scientific research tasks of navigation education, but has also been invited to visit more than 20 maritime colleges and universities in 10 countries or regions in ASEAN and Northeast Asia; it has participated in the diplomacy of the International Maritime Organization. Major events such as the General Assembly and the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong's return have become friendly messengers of international exchanges and cooperation in China's higher maritime education, and a demonstration window for maritime seafarer training and practical teaching.
