Cambodian media: Hun Sen once again thanked China for helping to build Cambodia's National Stadium
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Wednesday thanked the Chinese government for helping build Cambodia's national stadium as the countdown to the Southeast Asian Games begins, Cambodia-China Times reported.
Hun Sen expressed his gratitude to China for the aid when he met with 4,000 athletes on Wednesday afternoon, the report said. The stadium will be the home stadium for the Eastern Games, the media said.
Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian said the Cambodian National Stadium is the largest and highest-grade of the Chinese government's foreign aid so far. Cambodia will host the Southeast Asian Games here for the first time. I am confident that Cambodia will make the games a grand event that showcases its national image, promotes its development and uplifts its national spirit.
