The construction of the Dechong Phu South Canal is expected to officially commence in November
The ASEAN Headlines report: The Dechong Phu South Canal Project in Cambodia has made significant progress, and the construction of the project is about to enter a substantive stage. According to Cambodian media reports, this major infrastructure project in Cambodia is expected to officially commence construction in November 2025. Since the project was launched on August 5, 2024, all the preparatory work has been advancing in an orderly manner.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Cambodia, Peng LAN, said that the topographic mapping, data collection, boundary coordinate verification and ground pile setting work of this section are progressing smoothly at present and are expected to be completed by the end of July.
Peng Lun emphasized that, barring any special circumstances, the project will officially commence construction as planned in November. The machinery and equipment required for the construction have been delivered in advance by the construction company. Once the preparatory work such as land acquisition compensation and the clearance of non-explosive materials is completed, the construction can be fully launched.
