The Angkor Archaeological Park and Tonle Sap Lake will adopt a unified planning.

ASEAN Headline News: The Cambodian government is advancing the formulation of a land use master plan for the Angkor Archaeological Zone, which will serve as the basis for land planning and utilization standards.

On September 3rd, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, Sisangou, presided over the second consultation meeting in Siem Reap Province. Together with the Ministry of Culture and Arts, the Siem Reap Provincial Government, the Angkor Institutions, the Tonle Sap Lake Administration, the Siem Reap Provincial Administrative Agency, and the administrative agencies of the six surrounding provinces, they discussed the aim of formulating a unified land use master plan.

Sisangou emphasized that by clearly defining land use conditions and urban and rural planning management requirements, this plan will provide a unified work blueprint and land benchmark planning for the Angkor World Heritage Protected Area and the Tonle Sap Lake region, and lay a solid foundation for the land use benchmark planning of 1,652 communes across the country.
