On December 2, 2018, on the occasion of the 43rd National Day of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, the first simply supported T-beam of the China-Laos Railway was successfully erected at the railway construction site of the China Railway Second Bureau in Vientiane, the capital of Laos.

    The successful erection of the first simply supported T-beam of the China-Laos Railway marks the transition from offline construction to online construction of the China-Laos Railway. It is a major milestone in achieving the goal of decisive victory in civil engineering projects, marking the China-Laos Railway The construction of the project has entered a new stage, laying a solid foundation for the entire line.

    The newly-built China-Laos Railway from Mohan/Boding to Vientiane starts at Boding, the border port of China and Laos, and connects to the new Yuxi-Mohan Railway in Yunnan Province, China in the north, and reaches the capital city of Vientiane in Laos in the south. The length of the main line is 414.332 kilometers. The entire line is constructed using Chinese management standards and technical standards, with a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour and a construction period of 5 years. The Lao China Railway Co., Ltd., a joint venture between China and Laos, is responsible for the construction and operation and management of the entire line, and many subordinate units such as China Railway and Power China have participated in the construction of the project.

    The China Railway Second Bureau was responsible for the erection of all T-beams in the VI Section of the Mowan Railway. Specifically, the China Railway Second Bureau Xinyun Company was responsible for the construction, transportation, and erection of 409 T-beams and the construction of 16 bridge decks. As the builder and witness of the “Belt and Road” initiative, the China Railway Second Bureau is fulfilling the social responsibilities of large central enterprises for the Laos-China friendship channel. Since the China Railway Second Bureau entered the field, it has held high the banner of “Pioneer of the Road” and overcome many difficulties. It has successively realized the construction and operation of Vientiane beam making field, built the first T-beam in Laos, and completed the rescue mission of “Athopo”. The old railway and the construction of China-Laos friendship have made positive contributions.
