The President of Laos hopes that Chinese companies will help the people get rich

The General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee and State President Boon Yang visited Sun Paper Holdings Laos Co., Ltd. in Chebang County, Savannakhet Province, central Laos on the 10th. He hoped that Chinese-funded enterprises would drive local economic development and help the people alleviate poverty and become rich.


   Benyang expressed the hope that Chinese companies will cooperate with local people in afforestation to generate income, while paying attention to environmental protection and sustainable development.


   Li Hongxin, chairman of Shandong Sun Paper Co., Ltd., said that Sun Paper cooperated with the Lao people in afforestation to help local people get rid of poverty and become rich. The company uses a total of 310,000 local laborers and currently employs 458 Lao employees. In addition, the company actively participates in public welfare and charity, and has invested a total of 1.86 million US dollars in bridges and roads and schools.


    Sun Paper entered Laos Industrial Development in 2008, with a cumulative investment of more than 500 million U.S. dollars. In the next few years, it will continue to make large-scale investments in Laos.


   Sun Paper Holdings Laos Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned company invested by Shandong Sun Paper Co., Ltd., a Fortune 500 company in China, in Laos. It was incorporated in Laos in May 2008. In November 2009, the company signed the "Forest-Pulp-Paper Integration Project Development Contract" with the Lao government, and began to invest in the construction of the "Forest-Pulp-Paper Integration Project".
