Laos was named one of the top 23 countries to visit in 2023 by CNN on January 2, according to a Vientiane correspondent.
Laos, a landlocked Southeast Asian country bordering China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar and Thailand, has long been a must-see for travelers with time on their hands as they traverse the Southeast Asian circuit, CNN said. Thanks to the opening of high-speed rail in late 2021, it is easier than ever to travel around the country at faster speeds, cutting travel times that previously took a full day.
