The China-Laos railway has been in operation for 15 months
The China-Laos Railway, which connects Kunming in China's Yunnan Province with Vientiane, the capital of Laos, is the first international railway under the Belt and Road Initiative with Chinese investors as the main investors, using Chinese technical standards and equipment, and directly connecting with China's railway network. Since its opening, the volume of cross-border trains and freight has been increasing.
The 1,035-kilometer China-Laos Railway, which runs from Kunming in the north to Vientiane, the capital of Laos, in the south, has been in operation for 15 months. This month, cross-border freight trains have reached Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and other countries. The number of cross-border freight trains has increased to up to eight pairs a day, and the total volume of international freight has exceeded 3 million tons.
