Chinese enterprises signed a 5 million ton potash fertilizer project with the Lao government
On the afternoon of October 17, at the "Belt and Road" entrepreneurs' Conference, the Chinese company Potash International signed a project with an annual output of 5 million tons of potash fertilizer in 2025 with the Lao government. This is another China-Laos cooperation project after the China-Laos Railway and another example of China-Laos cooperation.
Laos is relatively rich in potassium resources, but due to technical limitations, it has not been well developed and utilized for a long time. According to the natural resources and environmental conditions of Laos, Potassium Asia International has used its own capital, technical advantages and management capabilities to increase the company's potash fertilizer production capacity from 200,000 tons to 3 million tons in just three years, becoming the first and largest potash fertilizer project in China overseas, and building the largest potash fertilizer production enterprise in Asia with technological and technological advantages. Today, on the banks of the Mekong River in Taqu, Gammon Province, nearly 400 kilometers from the Lao capital, Vientiane, there is a modern industrial city - "Potassium Town." This is an excellent example of Chinese enterprises adhering to the development concept of China-Laos community of common destiny and actively implementing the Belt and Road Initiative.
