The 138th China-Laos-Myanmar-Thai Mekong River Joint Patrol and law enforcement operation

At 11:00 am on February 29, the Chinese law enforcement boats 53101 and 53116 returned to dock at the Guanlei Police Wharf in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan. So far, the five law enforcement boats and more than 100 law enforcement personnel from the relevant law enforcement departments of China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand have completed all their tasks and returned to their countries successfully, marking the successful conclusion of the 138th China-Laos, Myanmar and Thailand Mekong River Joint patrol law enforcement operation.

The operation, launched on February 26, lasted four days and three nights and covered a total distance of more than 600 kilometers. During the operation, the joint patrol and law enforcement taskforces carried out operations in the key waters of the Mekong River in a combination of segmented and whole-line joint patrols, and simultaneously carried out joint and open land investigations along the coast, effectively deterring all illegal and criminal activities in the basin.
