The first train of the China-Laos International freight train in 2025 has arrived in Chengdu
Chengdu, June 12 (Xinhua) -- (Reporters Yue Yitong and Zhang Lang) The "Lancang-Mekong" fresh fruit special train of the Asia-Europe Railway Corridor, fully loaded with Thai golden durians, coconuts and other Southeast Asian fruits, arrived at Chengdu International Railway Port in Qingbaijiang District, Chengdu City on the 12th. This special train was loaded at the Vientiane South Station of the China-Laos Railway in Laos. After being inspected at the port of Mohan in Yunnan Province, it was transported directly to Chengdu in a "one container to the end" full cold chain mode and will be further distributed and sold in the port area.
It is reported that the value of the goods on this special train is approximately 12 million yuan. It is the first special train for the mixed transportation of Southeast Asian fruits operated by the China-Laos international freight train this year. Relying on all-rail transportation and in combination with the "one box to the end" railway cold chain model, Southeast Asian fruits can reach Chengdu directly from Thailand in as fast as 72 hours, with a loss rate approaching zero.
Chen Chuan, the deputy general manager of Chengdu International Railway Port Economic and Technological Development Zone Construction and Development Co., Ltd. and a representative of traders, said that the timeliness and stability of the China-Laos Railway have greatly shortened the time for tropical fruits to travel from the production area to the market. This not only enables consumers to taste fresher fruits but also effectively reduces logistics costs. In the future, they will continue to rely on the convenience of the China-Laos Railway. Further expand the variety and scale of fruit imports from Southeast Asia.
