The Prime Minister of Laos met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam.
ASEAN Headline News - July 9, 2025, Lao Prime Minister Songsean Xipantong met with a delegation led by Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Thanh Hung at the Prime Minister's Office.
According to the Lao People's Daily, Nguyen Thanh Hung's official visit to Laos from July 9th to 11th was his first visit to the country since taking office as the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam.
Songsean warmly welcomed the arrival of the Vietnamese delegation and highly praised the significance of this visit. He pointed out that this visit not only helps to consolidate the great friendship, special unity and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties and the two countries, but is also an important measure to implement the consensus of the Political Bureau of the two parties and the outcomes of the 47th meeting of the Committee between the Lao and Vietnamese governments. During the meeting, Songsean specially entrusted Nguyen Thanh Hung to convey sincere greetings to Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Phuong and all officials of the Vietnamese government.
