Laos and Thailand deepen cooperation throughout the Mekong River Basin

According to Lao National Radio, the two sides discussed cooperation in the protection and sustainable development of the Mekong River basin, water resource management, and other issues. They also discussed matters related to cooperation based on the memorandum of understanding signed by both sides last year.
The main focus of the talks was on the response and coordination of natural disasters such as floods, as well as the drainage management of hydropower dams.
