The ASEAN-China-Japan-ROK Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Roundtable dialogue was held

A roundtable dialogue on the ASEAN-China, Japan and South Korea Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership was held in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, on Monday. Shi Zhongjun, Secretary-General of the China-Asean Center, said at the meeting that as a new engine of Asian economic integration, the full implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) has effectively released the huge potential of the regional market.

The RCEP is a Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) initiated by ASEAN with China's participation, which aims to unleash the market vitality of countries in the region, promote bilateral trade growth, and promote high-level opening-up and development in the region. Shi Zhongjun said, "We are holding this roundtable dialogue today to further exchange views and build consensus with you on the role of RCEP in promoting regional trade and investment facilitation and the specific demands of enterprises in the implementation of RCEP. I hope you can speak freely and offer suggestions."

The industrial chain division system of complementary advantages and inclusive development built by RCEP has laid a good foundation for ASEAN, China, Japan and South Korea and other countries in the region to enhance exchanges and cooperation, and provided new opportunities for further deepening regional economic connectivity. Shi Zhongjun proposed at the roundtable dialogue that government departments and the business community should make full use of this opportunity:

First, strengthen cooperation at the level of implementation arrangements of the agreement, jointly build a service platform for enterprises, help enterprises have a deeper understanding of RCEP rules and mechanisms, and effectively enhance the benefits and sense of gain of enterprises in the region, so as to achieve win-win and multi-win.

Second, strengthen the effective linkage between governments, trade and investment promotion agencies and enterprises, give full play to the strength of RCEP industrial chain and supply chain integration, build an industrial chain of complementary advantages among countries, optimize resource allocation, and help enterprises transform and upgrade, improve quality and efficiency.

Third, we must grasp the trend of The Times in scientific and technological development. The business community should actively explore new areas of regional cooperation, constantly innovate business ideas and methods, build on strengths and make up for weaknesses, and use e-commerce and other new models to open up new avenues and space for development.

"Development remains the top priority for countries in the region, and the China-Asean Center has been actively cooperating with local governments to promote the high-quality implementation of RCEP and help enterprises in the region better enjoy the dividends of the free trade agreement." Shi Zhongjun said.
