The Greater Bay Area - ASEAN Study Abroad Support Programme was launched
Each year, no less than 8 ASEAN students will be sponsored to pursue further postgraduate studies to inject new vitality into educational exchanges
The opening ceremony also held the launch ceremony of the Greater Bay Area - ASEAN Study Abroad Support Program 2024. The Greater Bay Area-ASEAN Study Abroad Support Program initiated by the Qianhai Initiative supports the Qianhai Institute of International Affairs in initiating the establishment of the "Qianhai International Education Foundation" to further enhance Qianhai's role in promoting international exchanges and attract more overseas outstanding talents to Shenzhen for further study. Starting from next year, no less than eight students from ASEAN countries will be sponsored each year to study for a master's degree in Shenzhen. The implementation of this plan will inject new vitality into the educational exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, and train more talents with international vision and cross-cultural communication skills.
Zheng Yongnian, Dean of the Qianhai Institute of International Affairs and Professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), delivered a keynote speech. He analyzed the opportunities and challenges of cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in the context of globalization, and said that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and ASEAN countries should work together to cope with global challenges and achieve sustainable development.
It is reported that this forum will focus on digital economy, cross-border finance, international trade and other topics to hold sub-forums, during the forum will also carry out Shenzhen Qianhai Cooperation Zone and its outstanding parks and leading enterprises visit, ASEAN food and culture Week tour and high-tech fair exhibition and other activities, to bring diverse exchange experience for participants.
