China-Malaysia "Two Countries, Two Parks" aims to establish a cross-border industrial chai
Nanning, Guangxi, September 18th (Reporter: Feng Shumin) The upgrade and development of the "China-Malaysia Twin Parks" and the cooperation conference on cross-border industrial and supply chain cooperation were held in Nanning, Guangxi on the 18th. 50 investment projects and cooperation agreements were signed on the spot, with a total investment exceeding 42.4 billion yuan. The projects cover areas such as artificial intelligence, food processing, international trade, port and shipping logistics, new energy materials, and equipment manufacturing.
As one of the investment and trade promotion activities under the framework of the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo, this cooperation conference attracted investors from Asia, Africa and other regions. Foreign-funded projects not only came from Malaysia, but also from Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria and other countries. This marks that the "China-Malaysia Twin Parks" platform is expanding from bilateral cooperation to a multilateral cooperation mechanism, forming a broader international cooperation network and entering a new stage of deep integration of industrial and supply chains.
As the world's first international "sister parks", the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park and the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park (referred to as the China-Malaysia "Twin Parks") pioneered the establishment of national-level industrial parks by China and ASEAN countries. Over the past decade, both sides have adhered to openness and sharing, and jointly negotiated and constructed, promoting the implementation of a number of major projects, building multiple cross-border industrial and supply chains with complementary advantages, such as bird's nest, palm oil, recycled metals, and chemical new materials. Qinzhou Port and Kuantan Port have achieved two-way container direct shipping and reached all major ports around the world. As of the first half of this year, the first phase of the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park has attracted 373 projects, with a cumulative industrial output value of 121 billion yuan; the Malaysia-Kuantan Industrial Park has signed 16 projects for entry into the park, with a cumulative industrial output value of over 100 billion yuan.
Currently, the construction of the "two parks" in China and Malaysia has entered a stage of quality improvement and upgrading. Besides strengthening industrial layout, accelerating the construction of smart ports and smart border crossings, and innovating supply chain financial services, promoting the application of artificial intelligence to drive industrial development has become one of the important contents for China-Malaysia "two parks" to explore industrial linkage and upgrade development. At present, the China-ASEAN (Green Palm Industry) Artificial Intelligence Innovation Cooperation Center, the China (Guangxi)-ASEAN AI Fire Emergency Industrial Park, and the Special Robots Industrial Park have all been established in the Chongzhi Industrial Park of China-Malaysia.
Lu Xinning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee and Vice Governor of the Autonomous Region, stated at the meeting that Guangxi looks forward to working with all parties to seize the opportunities of artificial intelligence, explore the joint establishment of "digital special zones", "digital bonded zones" and "data offshore centers" for "two parks", promote the orderly flow of cross-border data, and apply AI to transform and upgrade various industries.
