Looking forward to deepening cooperation with China's artificial intelligence industry

YAKUJIMA, Jakarta, December 4th (Reporter: Feng Yulin, Cao Kai) Indonesia's Minister of Economic Coordination, Elangga Hartato, said on December 4th that Indonesia regards artificial intelligence as a key driver of economic growth and looks forward to deepening cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital economy with China to promote high-quality industrial development.

Elangga said at the China-Indonesia Industry Adaptation Conference held in Jakarta that Indonesia currently has only 25 artificial intelligence start-ups and urgently needs to accelerate the construction of an artificial intelligence ecosystem. Indonesia hopes to attract Chinese artificial intelligence enterprises to help local artificial intelligence start-ups grow, especially to enhance the development resilience of small and medium-sized enterprises in areas such as education, healthcare, and agriculture.

In the field of education, Indonesia has promoted intelligent blackboards and artificial intelligence teaching systems in most schools across the country to improve education quality and reduce dropout rates. Elangga said that he is willing to cooperate with Chinese enterprises to build inclusive online education platforms, so that students in remote areas and overseas workers can also access high-quality educational resources.

In terms of digital infrastructure construction, Indonesia plans to promote key projects such as semiconductors, photovoltaics, submarine cables, and green data centers, and collaborate with international universities to cultivate technical talents, providing support for industrial development. Elangga said that Indonesia is building 15 comprehensive service centers for the "gig economy" and digital entrepreneurship across the country, and plans to launch artificial intelligence application projects in 10 cities to encourage young people to master emerging technologies.
