The project covers all conventional power sources and new energy sources with development conditions in inland areas, of which the installed capacity of new energy accounts for 62% and the power generation accounts for 56%.

The project breaks the traditional single development model, builds a diversified power production pattern, improves energy utilization efficiency, enhances the stability of new energy power output, and enhances the power system's ability and comprehensive benefits to absorb intermittent renewable energy such as wind power and photovoltaic power generation. In particular, Ningming pumping and storage power station, the only one in Guangxi with weekly regulation capacity, can achieve 12 hours of continuous unilateral regulation. This wide adjustment capability will greatly enhance the reliability and flexibility of the base and even Guangxi power system.
